Do I need a referral to access speech therapy at SOE?
A referral is not required to access services at SOE.
How do I get on a care plan through Medicare?
Contact your GP whom can arrange a care plan which would give you access to 5 Allied health sessions which include a rebate.
How do I access my care plan?
The care plan is used in your invoice which is provided following your initial session. The amount owing is paid in full upon arrival of the invoice. The rebate is then given after you have used the invoice with item #10970 through your MYGOV account.
How do I use my NDIA funding for speech therapy?
Based on how you are being managed (NDIA, plan or self managed) SOE can create a service agreement that reflects the services that you have requested. That will require a signature with rights of provider and participant listed in the document prior to therapy being started.
How do I know if my child is a picky eater or a problem feeder?
Qualified Speech Pathologists whom have completed SOS training will implement an assessment and establish if there is a need for ongoing therapy, or some information regarding a home program to help you transition throughout the development of feeding, sensory and oral motor skills.
How are services provided in regional areas?
Services are offered in Roxby Downs, Port Augusta, Quorn, Wilmington and Hawker and can look like some of the following: individual treatment sessions with SP traveling to your regional area, Zoom sessions, and consultation through phone/email as needed.
How do I download and use Zoom for telehealth sessions?
What do I need to bring at my initial meeting with SOE?
Your care plan or NDIA plan is needed to help initiate the assessment process. Bringing your most recent Speech Therapy report and recommendations will help your Speech Pathologist complete a thorough assessment process. Any other related reports that are within 6-8 months prior to your initial meeting with SOE is also recommended.
